The Pain Remained After a Broken Ankle Healed

December 30th, 2017

I found myself asking friend and colleagues about San Francisco chiropractors after suffering from a weak and painful ankle. I broke the ankle on a jog about a year ago. That sort of stuff happens, and it was quite unpleasant, but I went through the typical go to the doctors and get fixed up route and everything seemed good. It wasn’t fun wearing a cast and then one of those big boots, but you do what you have to do to recover from an injury. I just wanted to get back on my feet as quickly as possible so I could get back to jogging.

After the boot came off, the doctors said I could resume running but that I should take it easy. I did. I didn’t even attempt to run for about a month, mostly due to some persistent weakness and pain in the ankle area that the doctors said should pass soon enough. When I finally did attempt a jog, I had to give up almost immediately due to a sensation that felt like my foot was going to fold up underneath me at any time. Soon I noticed I got that feeling just walking or standing. Just a really weak feeling that was both unpleasant and slightly worrisome.

What led me to a chiropractor is some research I did online that said you can have damaged muscles after a bone break. I decided on a chiropractor and went in for an examination. It turns out that I did have some misalignment of the muscle around the break. He did some adjustments, as they call them, and told me to try and stay off the foot for about a week. The time passed and I felt vast improvement in the area. No more weakness! Now I’m back to jogging and feel fit as a fiddle.
