My Husband Knew Best for Me After I Fell

May 13th, 2017

I always wanted a raincoat and galoshes when I was a little girl. Now that I’m an adult, I still wanted them. I had also heard that rain boots help you to traverse much better when they are soaking wet the rain. So I husband surprised me one day and brought home a raincoat and rain boots. He had no idea that I slipped, fell in the rain and had sprained my ankle earlier that day. What an interesting coincidence. But I made an appointment with a San Francisco Chiropractor after he mentioned that my back pain might get much worse if I didn’t have someone check me over.

My appointment was for the next week, and I quickly canceled it when I wrongly assumed that my back was getting a little better. The next morning, I woke up and the pain was horrendous. My husband chided me for trying to assume I knew best when it comes to an injured body. He told me that I could end up having trouble for years to come if I didn’t quit messing around and go get help. So, I made another appointment and I stuck with it after that.

It turns out that I pinched some vertebrae in my back when I fell that day. Even though I had a sprained ankle from that same fall, the chiropractor was still able to work on my back without any issues. I’m so glad that I listened to my husband and made that second appointment because it just would not have been possible for me to get through this on my own. I wouldn’t have even known what was wrong had I not gone in to be checked out. My back felt better long before my ankle did thanks to his help! I need to stop diagnosing myself.
